Official U.M.A.A. Policy

Brand, Affiliation & Merchandise Protection

The United Martial Arts Association protects the integrity of its name, identity, membership records, ranks, schools, officers, certificates, logos, insignia, digital content, and official merchandise. This policy explains what may and may not be represented as U.M.A.A.-authorized.

Verified Representation

Only a person, school, instructor, officer, vendor, licensee, or other organization with current U.M.A.A. authorization may state or imply U.M.A.A. membership, rank recognition, school affiliation, office, endorsement, licensing, certification, sponsorship, or other official relationship—and only within the scope of that authorization. A historical relationship or expired status must not be presented as current approval.

Names, Logos, Insignia and Content

U.M.A.A. names, logos, patches, insignia, certificates, credential designs, website content, photographs owned or controlled by U.M.A.A., publications, and other brand identifiers may be protected by trademark, copyright, contract, unfair-competition, and other applicable law. No license is granted merely because an item appears on a public website or because a person is or was a member.

Prohibited Unauthorized Uses

Official Merchandise

When official U.M.A.A. merchandise is offered for sale, it must be purchased through the official U.M.A.A. website, authorized U.M.A.A. member-portal channels, or a vendor expressly authorized by U.M.A.A. in writing. Merchandise from any other source must not be represented as official U.M.A.A. merchandise.

Enforcement and Remedies

Unauthorized use may result in requests to remove or disable the material, cease-and-desist demands, denial or termination of association privileges where applicable, claims for licensing fees or profits, damages, costs, attorneys' fees where available under law or contract, and civil action or other remedies available under applicable law. U.M.A.A. does not publish a fixed automatic monetary penalty on this page; the remedy depends on the facts, governing agreements, ownership rights, and applicable law.

Members, Schools and Vendors

Membership or affiliation does not create an unlimited right to reproduce or commercialize U.M.A.A. intellectual property. Members, schools, officers and vendors must follow current written permissions, agreements, brand standards, and product/vendor approvals.

Lawful Use

Nothing in this policy is intended to prohibit lawful fair use, truthful nominative reference, protected commentary, or other rights recognized by applicable law. Questions about permitted use should be submitted to U.M.A.A. before commercial reproduction or public representation.

Report Unauthorized Use

If you believe a person, business, website, social-media account, school, event, or product is falsely representing U.M.A.A. authorization or using U.M.A.A. material without permission, use the U.M.A.A. Contact page and provide the URL, image, seller/business name, and any available supporting information.
